Cloud Computing : Advantages & Disadvantages – Part 8

Security Advantages for Cloud Computing :

The security advantages for cloud computing are as follows:

  • It provides data fragmentation and dispersal.

  • It builds a dedicated security team.

  • It has a greater investment in security infrastructure.

  • It provides fault tolerance and reliability.

  • It provides a greater resiliency.

  • It provides hypervisor protection against network attacks.

  • It offers possible reduction of Certification and Accreditation activities.

  • It provides simplification of compliance analysis.

  • An unbiased party holds the data.

  • It has low-cost disaster recovery and data storage solutions.

  • It provides on-demand security controls.

  • It provides real-time detection of system tampering.

  • It provides rapid re-constitution of services.

  • It has advanced honeypot capabilities.

Disadvantages of cloud computing in an organization?

The main disadvantages of cloud computing are:

  • When a data center crashes all the virtual machines. This can be prevented by backing up your data and utilizing failover and clustering.

  • When the main parent server is hacked, cloud computing is not suitable to employ.

  • Cloud computing is sometimes not secured.

  • Cloud computing sometimes cannot be logged if the environment is not secured.

  • Cloud computing still has to exist on the physical server.

  • Extra cost of data transfer fees

  • Users do not have control over remote servers, their particular software, or their security issues.

  • For users, it is very difficult to migrate massive amounts of data from the provider.

Users should decide whether they should make use of cloud computing or not, as there are benefits as well as disadvantages.
